A great time to sit and watch the Smith Family Podcast would be during family night or General Conference weekend.

Elder M. Russell Ballard and Wallace B. Smith, Co-Chairs of the Joseph Smith Sr. and Lucy Mack Smith Family Association desire that the younger generation know the faith-promoting stories of their ancestors.

The Joseph Smith Sr. and Lucy Mack Family Association presents this podcast to the family and ask you to watch this short ten-minute video during a family night to help build faith in the work of our ancestors and recognize the sacrifices and commitment that fill our heritage.

Check out the Valley News report, Gift Honors Surgery That Saved Religious Leader’s Leg. The Geisel News Center issued a press release that explained, “Descendants of Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon Church, have created a scholarship at the Geisel School of Medicine to honor and give thanks for a pioneering surgery that Dartmouth’s Dr. Nathan Smith performed on young Joseph.” To read the full press release.

  1. hi, Joseph Smith is an ancestor of mine, i am related to him through the romney/erying/kimball/pratt line, this line goes onto joseph smith
    on my mothers side,. my ancestor issac jay chilton born in wales emigrated to slc was set apart by heber j grant as a seventy. his gt grandson married marylin romney
    and on my fathers side through martin henderson harris who married my ancestor georgina maria aldous this line then goes to brigham young and then onto joseph smith
    i am not a direct ancestor to joseph in the sense that my surname is not smith, but he is in my family tree
    i joined the church in scotland, my father is scottish/my mother welsh. and at the time thought i was all alone in the church, what a joy it has been as i do my family history to find so many of my family in the church and found some even alive today. i just bought a book called 500 little known facts about joseph smith and in it, your organisation is mentioned, so i thought i would try and look you up and send you a message, god bless, your new found cousin, from bonnie scotland
