Application Deadline: Saturday, June 29th, 2024.

Scholarship Theme:

How learning about Joseph Sr. and Lucy Mack Smith’s family’s values and sacrifices can help me and my family honor their legacy.

Purpose:

The scholarship program’s purpose is to help the youth learn about the great legacy and values demonstrated by the Smith Family, with the hope that this program will help to instill those values in our youth today. For this reason, all submissions will be in video format. You can also submit artwork, an essay or poem as your main submission, but they will also need a short explanation video (See instructions for more information).

Scholarship applicants should learn about the Smith Sr. Family and reflect what they learned in their Scholarship Submission. As the purpose is to engage today’s youth, the scholarship submissions should be geared towards other youth. Submissions should be fun and interesting.

  1. I have 4 kids who are descendants of Joseph Sr. and Lucy Mack Smith. Are they each allowed to make a submission?

  2. My daughter would like to apply but use an essay as her main submission. You indicate that she still needs to submit a video and that she should see “instructions for more information.” The instructions are just about uploading a video but not about what the video should include, how long it should be and the nature of the content–maybe just how her essay reflects the theme or what? Also do you want to see them personally in the video, or just sound. thanks so much for the opportunity

  3. On the application form, the deadline is still listed as April 3. Is the deadline still extended to June 1, 2020?
